Education news, tools and services

About Us

1HR News is an independent education publication and toolkit for Ghana. We report on what is happening across the education sector at home and abroad, maintain a scholarship directory checked against each awarding body, and build the practical tools students, parents and teachers ask us for.

The site began with a simple observation: the information Ghanaian students need most is scattered across a dozen places, and the tools they need are either missing or hidden behind a login. So the two things people reach for most — a grade aggregate and a CGPA — are free here, need no account, and run entirely in your browser.

What we publish

Two kinds of thing. News covers decisions and events in education: policy, examinations, placement and admissions. Guides are evergreen explainers written to be useful on the day you need them, not on the day we published them.

What we sell

We are open about how the site pays for itself, because a reader is entitled to know. We sell result-checker vouchers, we match families with vetted home tutors, we assist with admissions and scholarship applications, and we do website and SEO work for education businesses. The site also carries advertising. None of that buys editorial coverage — see our editorial policy.

What we are not

We are not WAEC, not an agent of WAEC, and not endorsed by them or by any examinations council, ministry or awarding body. Where we link to an official service, we link to it precisely so you can deal with them directly.

Contact

Corrections, questions and complaints all go to the same place: our contact page. Corrections are the ones we most want to hear about.
