By using this site you agree to what follows. If you do not, please do not use it.
What we are
1HR News is an independent education publication and toolkit. We are not WAEC, the Ghana Education Service, the Ghana Scholarships Authority, any university, or any other awarding body or agency named on this site, and we are not their agent. Where we link to an official service, we do so precisely so you can deal with them directly.
Accounts
Give accurate details and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. We can suspend an account that is being used for fraud, abuse, or to attack the site.
The free tools
The calculators are provided as they are, for general guidance. They implement the rules most Ghanaian institutions use, but institutions set their own grading scales, class boundaries and cut-off points. Treat any result as an estimate and confirm it against your institution's own handbook or admission requirements before you rely on it.
The paid tools
Trial and premium tools require an account and, for premium, an active plan. Generated output is a draft: you are responsible for reading, checking and editing anything you publish or submit. Do not use these tools to produce work you will present as your own where that would breach your institution's rules — that is between you and them, and the consequences are yours.
Result-checker vouchers
We sell vouchers. The result is always checked on the examinations council's own service, by you. We never ask for your index number or PIN, we do not retrieve or store results, and we cannot alter a result or a placement. A voucher has a fixed number of uses; once spent, it is spent. Keep your serial and PIN safe, because anyone holding them can use them.
Services
Home tuition, admissions assistance and website work are delivered under a separate agreement made when you engage us. We do not guarantee an outcome — not an admission, not an award, not a search ranking. Anyone who guarantees those is selling you something else.
Content and copyright
The articles, tools and images here are ours. Quote us with a link — that is welcome. Republishing an article whole is not; see our copyright page. Content you submit to us stays yours, and you give us permission to use it to provide the service you asked for.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site; do not scrape it at a rate that degrades it for other people; do not upload malware; do not impersonate anyone. We will close accounts for any of these and report what the law requires us to report.
Availability
We aim to keep the site up but do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance happens, and so do outages we do not control.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this site. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Where we are liable for a paid service, our liability is limited to what you paid for it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on the site, not slipped in.
