Ghana Scholarships Authority — Local Undergraduate Awards

Ghanaian nationals holding an offer from an accredited tertiary institution in Ghana. Applications are made through the Authority's own portal, and the Authority publishes the qualifying criteria for each cycle alongside the call for applications.

The Ghana Scholarships Authority is the statutory body responsible for administering government scholarships for Ghanaian students, both for study at home and abroad. Its local undergraduate awards are aimed at students who already hold a place at an accredited tertiary institution in Ghana but need help meeting the cost of it.

What the award covers

Coverage is set by the Authority for each cycle and is announced with the call for applications rather than fixed permanently, so applicants should read the current notice rather than relying on what a previous round offered.

How to apply

Applications go through the Authority's own portal. Applying anywhere else, or paying an agent who promises to secure an award, is a route to losing money: the Authority does not charge for an application and does not work through intermediaries.
